Note: Thursday night teachings will alternate each week between the new Deer Park resident teacher Geshe Tenzin Dorje and the current resident teacher Venerable George Churinoff.
Geshe Tenzin Dorje will teach on Lo Rig, a study of cognition and awareness based on works by Yongzin Purchok. Jeremy Manheim will translate. On the basis of the study of mind, one can adopt practices leading to liberation from the suffering of samsara and enlightenment. It is an important topic.
Venerable George Churinoff will be teaching Death, Intermediate State and Rebirth in Tibetan Buddhism, about the special meditation on death involving dissolution of consciousness and other factors at the time of death and sleep. The text, translated by Lati Rinpoche and Jeffrey Hopkins is available from Snow Lion Publications.
Both Thursday night classes harmonize well with each other, and are suitable for both beginners and advanced students. All are welcome to attend.
